Hanover, PA (March 28, 2022) – Dylan Norris scored his first 410 feature win at Williams Grove on Friday night. “It definitely means a lot to get my first 410 win and especially at the Grove of all places. The competition in this division is tough and it just feels really good to see the hard work myself and the team put in paying off.”

Dylan Norris started Friday night with a heat race win, earning him a spot in the feature redraw. Norris started on the pole of heat race #2 and led all 10 laps. After drawing pill 11 out of 12 last week, Norris’ pill draw luck improved as he pulled the 1 to line up on the pole for the start of the 25-lap feature.

Norris took the lead at the drop of the green flag and led the field into turn 1. Lap 1 saw the yellow flag wave, setting the field up for a single file restart. Norris had a solid restart, getting a good jump on Chase Dietz. Norris’ lead was up to 1.5 seconds by lap 4. Lapped traffic loomed ahead of Norris at lap 7 which allowed Dietz to close in. Devon Borden was also closing in on the leaders when the caution flag came out on lap 10. Norris led the field to the cone on the front stretch for another single file restart. Dylan looked good again on the restart and had pulled away from the rest of the field by over two seconds in just two laps when the yellow came out again on lap 13. Norris’ restart capabilities were put to the test yet again on lap 14. The final caution of the race came on the lap 14 restart, where Dylan once again got a good jump. “It was definitely challenging with all the restarts. There are so many factors that go into a restart, like where you pick up the pace and how you get through turns 1 and 2. I feel we did a decent job on all the restarts, and me being more confident in the car this year definitely helped.”

Dylan was pulling away from the field with 10 laps to go. Devon Borden was running in second as the laps wound down and was ever so slightly closing in on Norris as lapped traffic was in sight with two laps to go. When the white flag waved Norris held the lead and Borden limped down the front stretch as his car ran out of fuel.
Norris led every lap of the 25-lap feature to score his first career 410 win by 2.616 seconds over Kyle Reinhardt, earning him $5,500. In addition to his 410 win, Norris has a 358 sprint car win at the Grove as well.

Saturday night Norris started fifth in heat race #4, one spot out of a transfer spot. Norris got under Tim Wagaman and was into a transfer spot on lap 2. Norris then got by Tyler Esh for third halfway through the heat race. That would line Norris up 14th for the start of the 30-lap feature.

Dylan was up to 12th by lap 3 and ran there until lap 10 when he fell back to 13th. Norris was shuffled back to 14th on lap 14, but the second half of the feature saw Dylan step on the gas and charge forward. Dylan was back up to 12th on lap 16 and was battling Tim Glatfelter for 11th mid-race. Norris got by Brie Hershey for 11th with 5 laps to go. With 3 laps to go Norris passed Glatfelter for 10th. A caution with one lap to go advanced Norris up to 8th. Dylan got by Zane Rudisill on the one lap shoot out to the checkered flag to finish 7th and score his second top-10 of the season at Lincoln. A solid finish this week was just what the Gobrecht Motorsports team was looking for, “The race track definitely played more to the benefit of the guys that started at the back of the field this week because it was not as fast and was a little wider which made for more passing. All night we had a decent car and I think if we could have passed a group of cars in the beginning of the race we could have made it a top 5 finish.”

Dylan Norris and the Gobrecht Motorsports team will be back in action at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, April 1 at 7:30PM. The team will also be at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, April 2 with racing scheduled to start at 7PM.
