Hanover, PA (March 21, 2022) – Dylan Norris’ Friday night did not start out on a high note, but it ended with one of his best runs yet at the famous half-mile. Norris and the Gobrecht Motorsports team did an engine swap after blowing an engine in hot laps. Norris then battled a fuel leak during his heat race. Despite the fuel leak and not using the brakes as a precautionary measure, Norris still put down the fastest lap of the heat race and finished a solid second, putting him in the redraw. Norris lined up 11th for the feature and charged his way to a fourth place finish.
On his stellar night at the Grove, Norris said, “Friday was definitely the best I’ve felt at the Grove for sure. I felt good a number of times last year, but this year I feel more comfortable in the race car at any track and I’m starting to go and track down guys and make more passes. I’m just driving more aggressive than I ever have.”
Saturday night at Lincoln started with a three-hour weather delay. It was the first week utilizing the handicapping format at Lincoln, lining Norris up fifth in his heat race with four to transfer to the feature. Norris finished sixth in the heat after contact with another car set him back. That lined Norris up seventh for the B-main with four cars to transfer. Norris charged up to finish third making the feature. The 30-lap feature proved challenging with Dylan bringing out a caution on lap 3. Despite the initial set back, Norris advanced nine spots, to finish 14th, “Overall I was really happy with the car speed we had, even when the car was not great it was close.” Norris sits 11th in the championship point standings at Lincoln after three weeks of racing.
Dylan Norris and the Gobrecht Motorsports team will be back in action at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, March 25 with racing set to start at 7:30PM; Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, March 26 with racing scheduled to start at 6PM.
