Hanover, PA (October 24, 2022) – Friday night Dylan Norris and the Gobrecht Motorsports team competed in the “Night Before” at BAPS Motor Speedway. The night started with time trials in hot laps. Norris timed fourth in his group with a lap of 15.374 seconds putting him on the pole of his heat. Dylan finished third qualifying him for the $6,000 to win feature. Norris started the feature 10th and would cross the line ninth.
After waiting three weeks, the $75,000 to win National Open was held at Williams Grove on Saturday night. The Gobrecht Motorsports team had a special guest on the crew as Dante Thomas from the Milton Hershey School joined them for the night as a part of the partnership between the school and the World of Outlaws. “It was great having Dante around and being a part of the Outlaws partnership with the Milton Hershey School. We talked about track conditions and his background knowledge of sprint cars.” Dante helped with keeping the car clean throughout the night, tire grinding, pushing the car and many other things to help get Dylan qualified for his first National Open. The entire team was thankful for the two organizations choosing them to be a part of the program.
Dylan started off the night timing 13th quick in his group with a lap of 16.764 which put him in the seventh starting spot for his heat race. Norris finished sixth in his heat, one spot shy of qualifying for the feature. Dylan would start third in the B-main and after a battling with Donny Schatz for the lead, Norris finished second putting him in the show. Dylan started 22nd and after crossing the line 19th, he finished third in the season point standings at Williams Grove. In addition to his third place finish in points, Norris received Most Improved Driver honors at the famous paper clip.
