Hanover, PA (May 15, 2023) – The World of Outlaws made their second trip of the year to Central PA to take on the PA Posse and Norris and the Gobrecht Motorsports Team were ready.
Norris started the week off timing second quickest in his time trial flight on Wednesday night at Lincoln with a lap of 13.865. Despite a torsion bar going bad in time trials his lap time still put him on the pole of his heat race. Norris took the lead when the green flag dropped for his heat race and held off Donny Schatz for seven laps. Norris would cross the line second in his heat, earning him a spot in the dash, “Being able to get into the dash and putting down a good qualifying lap got us off to a good start.” Norris drew the three pill for the dash and would finish sixth. Norris ran inside the top 10 for the first third of the race, “We had a right rear tire issue about halfway through the feature and just didn’t have the car where I felt comfortable.” Dylan would cross the line 16th.
On Friday night Dylan timed sixth quickest in his flight with a lap time of 17.359 which lined him up third for his heat race. Norris would finish third in the heat, missing the dash redraw by one spot. Dylan lined up twelfth for the feature and would run as high as tenth early. Norris crossed the line thirteenth, “We laid down an ok qualifying lap and could have had the car a little bit better for the heat and feature. We were still able to pull out a solid finish despite the car not being very good.”
In between the racing action, Dylan and the Gobrecht Motorsports Team spent Thursday at Hershey Stadium at the Sprint Car Experience event hosted by the World of Outlaws and Milton Hershey School, “The event was great and very professionally run. We definitely met a lot of people and hopefully made some new race fans.”
